Possibilities to Apply eLearning to Support the Development of Continuous and Vocational Training
During the implementation of Lithuanian Virtual University program, Vytautas Magnus University implemented research "Possibilities to Apply eLearning to Support the Development of Continuous and Vocational Training".
Research is based on the following problems: there are no clear recommendations indicating how distance and e-learning could be applied in continuous adult training to ensure curriculum quality and meeting their learning needs. Teachers and trainers need knowledge and skills to develop a qualitative curriculum for adult learners. Learners are not satisfied with the services delivered in a distance way, but they are motivated in such learning mode. The aim of the research is to determine possibilities to apply e-learning in development of continuous and vocational training. Research objectives:
- To describe e-learning strategy with respect to the needs of adults and organizations, to distance education strategic development and experience accumulated in this area.
- To analyze curriculum designing theories revealing the main curriculum planning and learning organization tendencies.
- To emphasize the main aspects of continuous and vocational training curriculum quality.
- To identify how authors of continuous and vocational training apply e-learning.
- To clarify how learners evaluate the use of e-learning elements in continuous and vocational training curriculum.
- To formulate recommendations for application of e-learning in continuous and vocational training.
The empirical research was organized to survey teachers and trainers, as well as learners using e-learning in practice.
